Is that the same Cosca as in his "Best Served Cold"?
Guh I am NOT a fan of this one... Now isn't this book supposed to be set in the Pseudo European/Medieval time period? I'm just confused now...
what's there to be confused about? the so-called frontier experience, typically associated with Westerns, could easily be applied to a pseudo-Medieval setting, and that's what Abercrombie's doing in this book. it's not about cowboys and the like, but about a certain spirit of pioneering in a basically empty country, with a virtually non-existent law system. and this surely suits his Old Empire, where the action will take place.
